Well as soon as you quit smoking, you will almost immediately begin to see and feel many of the benefits of quitting smoking.
To start off, when you thinking of smoking in general you immediately think of a multitude health problems. Smoking kills plain and simple. The question isn't maybe, it's simply a question of when and how.
If you are a smoker, you may argue that many non-smokers suffer from some of the same health problems that smokers do. Well this is true, but it is also a fact that if you smoke, you drastically increase the likely-hood that you will encounter these health problems.
The sooner you quit the better. The reason for this is, your body begins to recover from the sustained tobacco use. Cigarettes and other tobacco products are full of deadly substances. The longer you are exposed to them, the more damage there is to undo.
There are other aspects that smokers deal with on a regular basis that non-smokers don't encounter. Smokers generally have a constant dry hacking cough when they first wake up in the morning and lets not forget about the smell of tobacco that soaks into everything and lingers. Don't forget about the constant thought in the back of your mind of "When you will be able to have your next fix".
Smoking may also interfere with day to day activities as well, such as having to step out of a nice family get together to go and have a smoke, or waiting for an important meeting for work and all that you can think about is how long the meeting will go before you can have a smoke.
Non-smokers don't have these worries. They can enjoy that family get together and they can spend that extra time preparing themselves for the meeting at work to impress your employer. Smoking, whether you want to admit it or not, is very controlling. Don't you want to be in charge of your life and not allow a skinny little stick full of harmful chemicals.
The financial benefits of not smoking is tremendous as well. Cigarettes are expensive and the cost is rising each and every year. If you smoke a pack a day or even a pack every two days. If you multiply the cost of a pack by 30 days, you will have enough to make a serious dent in a nice car payment, or even a house payment.
There are also extra hidden costs associated with smoking as well, that you may not think about. Health insurance is significantly higher for a smoker compared to a non-smoker. House insurance is higher for a smoker as well. Health coverage and insurance is also harder to get if you are a smoker.
Being a smoker, over the years, has become socially unpopular. Do you want to be in the eyes of others a drain on the health care system?
So why not start reaping the benefits of quitting smoking today. As you can see the benefits of quitting far out weigh any of the "pleasures" you encounter being a smoker. There are so many quitting smoking benefits that to continue smoking would be very irresponsible, both to yourself and your friends and loved ones.
